Traveling
I had quite the adventure this week as I traveled to Springfield, IL to conduct an Emotional Poverty professional development.
My trip started out with delayed flights. I was to fly to Chicago and then to Springfield. Both flights were delayed. They were both late arriving and both were late leaving their respective airports.
I managed to get a rental after discovering that there were none available early in the week. I checked again prior to my flight and I was able to secure a vehicle. Thank God for that because the school I was going to was actually about 45 minutes from Springfield.
The training went well, my survey feedback was excellent. I wish I could do that ,training about 3 or 4 times a month.
That night I went and explored Springfield, home of Abe Lincoln. Check out the Capitol building:
Following my sightseeing, I went to a place where I ate a meal called a horseshoe. It was a Buffalo chicken breast on a slice of Texas Toast, smothered in cheese sauce and covered with fries. Look:
The next morning I took a red eye to Chicago and then connected to a flight to Houston. More delays, but I made it home before the afternoon was done.
It was a crazy three days, but I enjoyed it!

The Cowboys suck. Let me be specific. Something is wrong with Dak. He is stinking it up, throwing horrible INTs
That horseshoe up above in the picture? Made me drool on my food. I’ve never done that before. It. Was. So. Good.
Still not down with my food touching. That is a NOTABLE exception.
I could have made a lot of money betting on games this weekend. That’s going to be my goal for next season…stay tuned.
Closer and closer to solving some health issues. I’m going to say it again. Listen to your body and make sure you go to the doctor and get you annual check ups!
Bonus: I watched LilRel Howery’s latest standup on HBOMax. It was pretty good and surprising poignant. It inspired me.
Bonus Bonus: I may be writing some songs with a local talent soon. I’ll definitely keep you all in the loop.
Until next time, peace and love!
